Ducky

Chesapeake Regional employees are joining duck-lovers throughout Hampton Roads in “adopting” hundreds of rubberized fine feathered friends to benefit a good cause.

For the second year, CHIP/Healthy Families Duck Race will take place Saturday, Sept. 13. A mass of adopted rubber ducks will be unleashed into the Intracoastal Waterway in Great Bridge, and the owner of the first duck to cross the finish line will win a 2008 Nissan Versa.

The event benefits CHIP/Healthy Families, a program that promotes the health, education and well-being of Chesapeake children, ages 0 through 6, by connecting them to medical and community services and providing parenting support through intensive home visitations. Chesapeake Regional is a program sponsor.
