Health Screenings
Skin Cancer Screening
One of the most common types of cancer is skin cancer, and it is also one of the most easily treated, especially if caught early. Even though you may be diligent about conducting self-exams, early detection requires healthcare professionals to take a closer look, too. That’s why each year Chesapeake Regional Medical Center offers free skin cancer screenings to the community. For more information, call 312.6132.
Total Cholesterol Screenings
Most cholesterol screenings don't give you a complete picture of your health. They just tell you a total cholesterol count. But our test includes the complete lipid profile, which explains total cholesterol, "good" cholesterol, "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides. You need all these numbers to truly know if your cholesterol is a problem. While you're here, we'll also measure your blood sugar and blood pressure. The total cost for all tests is $25. That's a small price for something that may save your life.
Osteoporosis Screenings
Osteoporosis, or brittle bone disease, can develop silently, often with no symptoms until a bone breaks. A heel bone density screen can provide early indications of bone loss. Screenings cost $25. (A $5 discount is available when both osteoporosis and total cholesterol screenings are done on the same date.)
