fitnessChesapeake Regional’s Lifestyle Center offers fitness memberships to adults and those with certain risk factors. On-site personal trainers, nurses and dietitians will get you fit again. Fitness instructors are current on all educational credentials, certifications, and are experienced in planning exercise regimen to meet individual needs. As a hospital-based facility, we have programs to suit the needs of those with medical concerns.

Beginner Orientations

Available to all new fitness center members, this orientation includes an equipment orientation, a fitness assessment and one free personal training session. Orientations are scheduled by the fitness staff.

Boot Camp

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center's "Boot Camp" gets recruits shipshape with an upbeat, rhythmic vibe, using strength training, plyometrics, speed, power training and aerobic conditioning. The class is considered an intermediate to advanced level.

Non-members pay $50 for the 10 class session.

Boot Camp

  • Thursdays 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Cardio Mix

A cardiovascular conditioning class that includes low impact floor and/or step moves that are easy to follow. Abdominal training and stretches included. Beginner to intermediate workout.

  • Mondays, 8:30-9:30 a.m.
  • Wednesdays, 8:30-9:30 a.m.
  • Fridays, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Chair Fitness

Join this non-impact class to build strength, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and balance, and improve abdominal and lower back strength. The class is free to members.

Cost for non-members is $25 a month.

  • Mondays, 12:30-1 p.m.
  • Fridays, 12:30-1 p.m.

Chair Yoga

This class will focus on deep breathing, relaxation and postures from the regular yoga class, but will be modified to be completed in a chair.

  • Tuesdays 12:30-1:00 p.m.

Chair Fitness Plus

A more advanced version of the original – cardiovascular, strength and flexibility moves performed while seated as well as standing using the chair as a prop. This class is great for men and women of all ages including S.E.T. participants with the approval from their S.E.T. supervisor. All levels.

  • Mondays, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Thursdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Fit Express

A muscle and cardiovascular conditioning class designed to give you an all-in-one workout in just 30 minutes. Intermediate level.

  • Mondays, Noon-12:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, Noon-12:30 p.m.
  • Fridays, Noon-12:30 p.m.

Glute and Abs Attack

  • 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Latin Dance Cardio

The rhythms and steps from the: paso doble, rumba, samba, cha-cha-cha, and jive will be combined for a fun cardio workout. This class will be offered on the first Wednesday of every monthe only. All levels, 60 minutes.

  • First Wednesdy of the month, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Lite Fitness

An aerobic conditioning class designed for all fitness levels. A total body workout is given using different types of equipment.

  • Mondays, 7:50-8:20 a.m.
  • Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Fridays 7-7:30 a.m.

Strength Training

A non-aerobic muscle sculpting class set to music. Exercises are performed using a variety of resistance equipment and tempos to firm and define all major muscle groups. Includes abdominal and flexibility training. All levels.

  • Tuesdays, 5:40-6:40 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 5:40-6:40 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 9-10 a.m.


Stretch Express

This class focuses on joint range of motion, muscle and joint extensibility and relaxation. Targets all muscle groups. This class is great for men and women of all ages including S.E.T. participants with the approval from their S.E.T. supervisor.

  • Wednesdays 7-7:30 a.m.
  • Thursdays, 10:30-11 a.m.
  • Fridays, 9:30-10 a.m.

T'ai Chi

Take the cue from the ancient Chinese by indulging in this technique for health and relaxation. It improves balance and circulation, and also strengthens the immune system. Classes are for all levels. Ongoing T'ai Chi classes are free to members. Non-members pay $60 for eight sessions, which don’t have to be taken consecutively. Yoga

An exceptional class for promoting flexibility made for all levels. A relaxing form of stress management exercise. Yoga enhances your energy level, strengthens your muscles, increases your physical awareness, heightens your powers of concentration, and helps you discover your inner peace.
