Donor buys milestone brick in tribute to her husband
Helen Norris intended to quietly pay tribute to her late husband, Harold, when she recently purchased an engraved brick in his memory. To her surprise, she learned that her order was for Brick No. 1,000 in the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center brick garden.

“I would often come outside and sit on a bench in the garden when my husband was a patient in the hospital,” Norris said. “This is a beautiful, peaceful place.”
Proceeds from each brick support the HealthMobile, a specially equipped van purchased by the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation that helps with early detection, prevention and education for those who may not have easy access to healthcare. The brick engraved in memory of Harold Norris is now part of the growing number of tribute bricks in the beautifully landscaped walkway in front of Chesapeake General Hospital.
