Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is actively recruiting nurses skilled in a wide range of disciplines. Positions are available in the hospital as well as in our associated facilities. A commitment to professional nurses At Chesapeake Regional Medical Center we know nursing and we know the kind of commitment you have made to pursue your profession. There are plenty of ways to make a living, but there is no better way to make a difference. Nurses make that difference everyday through hard work, dedication and compassion. Patients spend more time with nurses than anyone else while hospitalized, and nurses strongly influence a patient’s frame of mind. Patients need to know that their healthcare providers are knowledgeable and skilled, and that when care is delivered, it is delivered with compassion and respect. When this happens, patients feel better about themselves and their healthcare experience, and they recover faster. That is why the nurses at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center are such an important part of C.A.R.E. - our patient satisfaction initiative. C.A.R.E. (compassion, attention, respect and excellence) embodies the high standards to which we hold ourselves, and reflects our commitment to constant improvement. Award-winning initiatives We are always looking for ways to be better at what we do - and that gets us noticed. George Mason University’s Department of Health Administration and Policy has presented Chesapeake Regional with its Improvement of the Year award for the staff’s efforts in reducing risks with patient-controlled analgesia narcotics. “This medical center aimed to identify technology that would be cost efficient for an independent community hospital and implemented this new technology to save lives,” the university released in announcing the award. Team is the theme When you join our team you join a community of nursing professionals who are as proud of the compassion they bring to their patients as they are passionate about their skills and knowledge. Caring, team-oriented, professional and having a sense of community are just some of the terms our nurses use to describe their co-workers. Over half of our employees have been with us more than ten years. This exemplifies not only our employee's commitment to their mission, but also our unwavering commitment to our employees. There are many reasons to join our team. Some are concrete - like our very competitive benefits. Other reasons are more individual - like the feeling you have when you are headed home and you know that today, even if just for a while, you made someone's life a little better.
