Chesapeake Regional expands its medical group
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center has established a medical practice of physicians who practice exclusively for its patients. This practice was developed to attract hard-to-find specialists to the Chesapeake area and to assist physicians with the administrative duties of running a medical practice. Chesapeake Regional Medical Group The Chesapeake Regional Medical Group is comprised of primary care physicians and specialists who solely work for the patients at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. The physicians are located in several office locations. Currently, the medical practice consists of physicians in neurosurgery, neurology, breast surgery, family medicine, infectious disease, weight loss surgery and primary care. Dr. Alireza Farpour
Dr. Farpour received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and completed his surgical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. He began his tenure at Chesapeake Regional in 1995 when he joined the practice of Dr. Enrique Saenz. Farpour is the past chief of the Department of Surgery and past president of both the Chesapeake Regional Medical Staff and the Chesapeake Medical Society. He is board certified in general surgery.
Dr. John Holland
Dr. Holland received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, where he also completed an internship and residency. The physician has served as the chairman of Chesapeake Regional's Surgical Endoscopy Committee and as an assistant professor of clinical surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Holland is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is board certified in general surgery.

Dr. Nader G. Atalla
Atalla received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and completed an internship at the University's Hospital, also in Cairo. The physician completed residencies in emergency and internal medicine at Coptic Hospital in Cairo and an additional residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. Atalla completed a neurology residency at Seton Hall University's neurology program at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J., and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology, with an emphasis on epilepsy, EEG and EMG, at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y. Prior to joining Neurological Associates of Hampton Roads, Atalla was an assistant professor of neurology at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. |
