- Collaborative effort involving a multidisciplinary team of board certified and nationally recognized interventional cardiologists, emergency physicians, rapid response nurse team, cardiovascular technologists and EMS personnel.
- An average of 3,200 chest pain-related treatments annually.
- An average of 175 urgent cardiac interventions per year.
- Better-than-average door-to-balloon time (a measurement of the time between when a heart attack patient comes through the door of the emergency room and receives treatment).
- Cardiac catheterization lab equipped with Philips' digital flat-plane cardiac-vascular X-ray system.

- 64-slice cardiac CT: Provides detailed images of the heart's anatomy and coronary function. This technology can detect potential heart problems before patients experience symptoms.
- Electrophysiology: Used in the evaluation and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
- Interventional cardiology: A branch of cardiology that uses stents and balloon angiography to diagnose and non-surgically treat heart disease.
- Partnership with Chesapeake ambulance services enables EMS teams to perform EKGs in the field and send the information within seconds to the ED.
