Chesapeake Health presents talk by nationally known urologist to address female sexual dysfunction
Oct. 17, 2004 — Dr. Jennifer Berman will be at Chesapeake General Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 17, to talk to the women of Hampton Roads about a subject that is often simply not discussed: women's sexual dysfunction. The matter-of-fact and practical nature of her approach, backed by her pioneering medical expertise, promises for a compelling afternoon.
A nationally known expert on the subject and one of only a few female urologists in the country, Berman and her twin sister, Dr. Laura Berman, are the authors of For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life.
The sisters are frequent guests on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America and other national network talk show and news programs. They are the hosts of their own Discovery Channel weekly talk show, Berman and Berman, that explores issues of male and female sexuality. And they have been featured in cover stories by Fortune, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Redbook, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar.
Set for 2 p.m. at the hospital's Lifestyle Center, the talk is free and open to the public. Berman will answer questions afterward, and then sign copies of her book. Copies will be available for purchase, or they can be purchased in advance at Barnes & Noble Booksellers of Chesapeake prior to her talk.
Her talk is sponsored by Chesapeake Health and Barnes & Noble Booksellers of Chesapeake as part of the grand opening of Chesapeake General's new Women's Unit. The unit is the only in-patient program in Hampton Roads exclusively devoted to women's services.
In addition to Berman's talk, displays and exhibits of Chesapeake General's women's services will be held. Giveaways and refreshments will also be available at the event.
Although the talk is free, please pre-register at 757.312.6589 or by going online at Chesapeakehealth.com.
