Prostate screenings free for qualified men
Sept. 6, 2005 — Beginning Sept. 1, qualified men in the community who have not had a prostate screening in the last year may sign up for a free one at Chesapeake General Hospital.
The screenings will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at CGH’s Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center.
Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among American men. If detected early, the slow-growing disease can be effectively treated.
To be eligible for the CGH screening, men should be 50 years old or older or have a family history of prostate cancer.
