Project Lifesaver honors Chesapeake Health Foundation
March 10, 2006 — The Chesapeake Health Foundation is making it possible to bring loved ones back home through Project Lifesaver.

The fundraising arm of Chesapeake Health was recently honored for its support of the organization’s founding in 1999. Project Lifesaver works to locate missing persons by providing safety through a proven, rapid response system for bringing loved ones home and peace of mind to caregivers.
“When we began program, Chesapeake Health Foundation stepped forward with a donation that enabled us to procure equipment and begin to enroll clients,” said Gene Saunders, CEO of the organization. “This initiative gave us the ‘breath of life’ to start the program to locate loved ones that had wandered away from their families. Today, we are proud to state that we have had 100 percent success and more than 1,260 successful searches.”
The foundation received the Founding Sponsor award at a February reception in Portsmouth’s Willet Hall.
