Romero is Chesapeake Health’s new Medical staff president
July 31, 2006 – Dr. Cynthia Romero has been elected president of the Chesapeake Health Medical Staff. She assumed the position July 1, after serving a year as president-elect.
A family practitioner in Virginia Beach, Romero has served as chief of family practice at CGH, a board member and district director of the Medical Society of Virginia, and member of the Mid Atlantic Osteoporosis board. She is also a former president of the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians and Norfolk Academy of Medicine.

She received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia Riverside Family Practice Program in Newport News.
In 2005, Romero was awarded a prestigious U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Primary Health Care Policy Fellowship.
