New governmental affairs administrator is named at Chesapeake Health

Aug. 1, 2006 –Michelle Laisure has joined Chesapeake Health to serve in the newly created position of administrator of governmental affairs.

With more than 16 years of experience in governmental relations and program administration, Laisure previously worked as the governmental relations administrator for the Denver Health and Hospital Authority. She has also served as program manager for the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.

Her extensive regulatory experience includes spearheading a two year-long citizens’ initiative to secure a tax on tobacco, used to benefit the healthcare needs of uninsured working families and children.

Laisure has a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and a master’s from the University of Northern Colorado.
