Hickory HS grad receives CGH Kemp award
Laura Elizabeth Willman, a 2006 graduate of Hickory High School, has been named the recipient of Chesapeake Health’s Roxanne E. Kemp Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is in memory of Kemp, a nurse and advocate of education, who was employed at Chesapeake General Hospital from March 1976 until the spring of 2002 at the time of her death from cancer. Kemp exemplified care, concern and passion traits which have become the hallmark of care at CGH. The scholarship was established in Kemp’s name for Chesapeake public high school graduates and children of CGH employees interested in pursuing a career in nursing.
Willman plans to attend Old Dominion University in the fall to study nursing.
